How Can We be Sure That Our Words are Pleasing to God?

Our words can be a powerful weapon. When we encounter conflict with others, it's important to remember that if we're not careful, the words that we say can tear someone down. The Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 4, "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building as fits the occasion; that it may give grace to those who hear."

If somebody has wronged you, go to the Lord prayerfully to seek the right words to express your feelings. Then let the Holy Spirit guide you in your speech. This way your words will be pleasing to the Lord, and you won't find yourself asking for forgiveness later.
